I started in the construction industry in 1978. I was a groundman for a major Power Line contractor. I worked around cranes every day. In those days, there were no LMI systems, or safety personnel. It was up to the crew, and operator in safely building power lines. I started operating cranes shortly after, setting structures with a friction rig. As the years went by, the cranes grew in size, and modernization. I have moved, erected, and operated all types of cranes in the most extreme locations, and conditions imaginable. I can proudly say with no accidents. I also have owned a trucking company, with my own Federal operating Authority, and another company with a contract to a major CATV company, servicing their trunk, and service lines. Also doing new build construction. As time went by, I went into high rise commercial building. There, I worked several projects, learning the process. I then worked into heavy, friction, lattice cranes, and tower cranes. I moved with my company to the Phoenix AZ area, where I became Equipment manager. There, I controlled all equipment utilized on major commercial airport projects. I then became a NCCCO practical examiner. I now train others in the safe, efficient operation of cranes. |
